A little about myself...
I knew from the time I was in 2nd grade that I wanted to become a teacher. All through my childhood, my dream of what I aspired to be never faltered. So, when the time came to choose my college, I felt confident choosing Michigan State since the teaching program is reputable and strong.
I graduated from Michigan State University in Spring of 2002 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, I packed up my jeep and moved to California. I started my career in San Bernardino where I taught 2nd grade for 2 years. After that, I joined the fabulous Webster staff in 2005 where I taught for 6 years. Through the years, I have taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and absolutely love being a teacher!
I truly think teaching is a calling. It's not just a job. It means a lot more than that to me. It takes dedication, patience, perseverance, and a love of learning to make a difference in the lives of students. It's also extremely important as an educator to continue my education so that I can stay on the cutting edge of all that is being learned in relation to the education field. I am always looking for ways to learn more and improve my teaching. I am a Nationally Board Certified Teacher and completed my Masters in Educational Technology in Spring of 2013.
My all time favorite quote:
"A hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank...but the world may be a better place because I made a difference in the life of a child." - Forest Witcraft
A few more quotes that speak to me:
“No man can be a good teacher unless he has feelings of warm affection toward his pupils and a genuine desire to impart to them what he believes to be of value.” – Bertrand Russell
"Real success is finding your lifework in the work that you love." David McCullough
"It is not what is poured into a student that counts but what is planted." -Linda Conway
